U-Retro deluxe vs Pope Flexcore

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by kucor, Aug 23, 2012.

  1. Hi, I have another GAS issue with choosing onboard preamp to buy.

after I owned Bartolini, Aguilar, Noll and Nordstrand 3 bands, looking to go somewhat higher in price range

Actually, in Europe I can get new U-retro dlx 5knob for 250 usd, while Flexore will cost me $320 (after 25% VAT $400+), without knobs.

$400 is a very high price for my standard, so wondering, is it worth that?

Sound wise, I'm looking for modern sound for pop, disco, not too neutral and bright (like Noll or Nordy), with good possibility to get nice, rounded and modern slap sound.

So, I need ground shaking non-muddy bass wheen boosting, and decent midrange control to play with when playing some funk, jazz or so, or when cutting for slap.

Bass is Ibanez btb with DC5s, but I'm gettin' custom stacked singles soon.

please help me decide, can't do this alone:rollno::D

    thanks!
