Ugliest Bass Ever?

    I used to think those Wish basses were pretty ugly. Then I saw this:

    Really Ugly Bass

    I especially like the headline on the listing -- "like Zon." Yeah, like Zon -- on acid!

    The problem is, it appears the man has woodworking ability. Which means that was intentional.

    That almost looks like a redone wish. The control plat cover is to wishy teardrop style... And the neck looks large like he would do. The only thing that I don't see is the signature "hollow" headstock, which I actually really like!

    probably studied wish then improved his methods...hehe

  6. Wish has a sculptor that works in his shop named John BLACKBURN! Hmmmm...I wonder... :meh: :meh: You don't suppose... :meh:

    Things smell a little bit "wishy".

    Step 1: Acquire halfway decent looking bass
    Step 2: Acquire 7 pounds of raw hamburger beef
    Step 3: Smear hamburger meat on bass
    Step 4: Toss hamburger smeared bass into closed room with 4 starved Pit Bulls
    Step 5: Clear out Pit Bulls and photograph bass
    Step 6: Post on eBay

    Its gonna be a Wish - Blackburn year in '05 .. I'll vote for them over Bush or Kerry

  10. YEP! Same shop as Wish...HAS to be...same corian bridge saddle...same ugly volume knob...same neck-through design...same brushed aluminum (Aussies say "aluminium") coverplate...grover tuners

    BUT there ARE improvements

    1) ADJUSTABLE TRUSS ROD (possibly necessary due to slimmer neck)
    2) More "normal" headstock (could have been, anyway)
    3) Use of joinery skills (check out the tongue and groove joint between the walnut and the neck material)
    4) A nice finish

    ALSO the steps backward

    1) IT IS UGLY

    i don`t know if anyone else saw this, but a couple of weeks ago i saw a naked woman bass on ebay. man i was crackin` up at this thing, it was like solid mohogany and i think the butt was on the front and the other parts were on the back side of the thing.

  17. The guy had a "buy it now" of ONLY $2,999.99 ummmm....yeah, ok...

    I can buy 10 (count them 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10) wishbasses for that price :D
  18. yup, those wacky americans and their inabiltiy to say aluminium...

    but personally, i think its an interesting peice of art, dont know about its usuability..but it reminds me of that she devil esp guitar :rollno: ....

    but i also think zon's are ugly too :bag: , so i dont know if its much improvement on a zon..but what else can you expect coming from me

    IIRC he's been trying to sell those two bases on ebay for about 2 or 3 months now. It's been posted on several of the Wish-bashing threads for some time. Certainly Wish inspired, no doubt, but the similarities are so many that I have to say he's at least aware of/a big fan of Wish's.
