So I have a string of shows coming up..

However, my main bass (2000 MIA Deluxe Jazz) seems to have just developed a problem. I was foolin' around today just playing some songs and I realized that whenever I play the strings hard or tap, the sound gets overly distorted and seems like it clips. At first I thought it was an issue with my cab/cables, but I tried other cables and even ran the bass directly into a mixer to see if it still did the same thing. Unfortunately, every combination still displayed the same issue. I used my other basses through the same configs and none of them distort.

Hopefully, I'll get it checked out tommorrow by someone. Anyone have any advice/previous experience/thoughts on why this is happenning?

Your input is greatly appreciated :)

I have the same bass... As others have said, it's probably the battery. Same thing happened to me when I first had the bass.

Hey guys, I'm kind of new to all of the active electronics stuff. So when all of you guys stop fighting over what the real answer is, I'd appreciate a straight-forward answer :p
