UK: Reverb shops, formerly Soundcontol.

Well the eagerly awaited re-opening of some former Soundcontrol shops went ahead on Saturday.

Being close to one I popped in to see what mega improvements the new company had made since the demise of SC.

Seems to me, not a great deal!

No bunting, no balloons, no welcoming coffee, no smiles, no music to entice one into the shop. One or two salespersons looking bemused (just like they always did under SC's reign). Nobody knew of the great 20% off sale and, if they did, nobody knew which stock it was, or where it was, or if they'd got any. They didn't know when specialist staff would be in to answer my possible-purchase enquiry. I recieved a price that was a good 30% higher than internet supply prices.

And so the sorry tale went on. I spent about 10 minutes in the shop, then left.

The first day should be slick, full of hope, full of joy, full of.....

Could Reverb be the same old dinosour, but just wearing different clothes?
