I started a threat asking members who they thought would win in a celebrity death match-- Chris Squire of Geddy Lee.

Since them, some other interesting Celebrity Bassist Death Matches have come to mind.

If you could arrange a bassist celebrity death match, who would you put in the Ring and who do you think would win.

How about Fieldy from Korn vs. Peanut from 311. No question, I think Fieldy would win.

  2. hrmm...if they're not fighting with there bass lines I think

Matt Freeman(Rancid) and Mark Hoppus(Blink182) should fight...they're the most talked about "punk" bassists around here...

my vote is for Matt however.

    Umm...who else?

I think all the wooten brother's should have one big battle,it'd be great...

Jason newstead and Rob Truijillio should fight...
    (Metallica Bassists')

Here's an interesting one. How about Jaco vs. Flea? I'd put my scratch on Jaco-- the guy was crazy with a capital D-- know what I mean?

I suppose you're right. It would take a heater and some serious smelling salts to even get Jaco into the ring.
    :hyper:

How about actors tunred bass playesr in a deathmatch. Tina Yothers (the youngest daughter from Family Ties) vs. Keanu Reeves. Not sure which way to go on this one-- would be really close.

Les Claypool Vs. Bootsy Collins a battle of the cartoonish bassists. Bootsy has his space bass, but Les has his crazy stompin' moves. Too tough to call IMO.

  9. JT vs. Fieldy - Who IS the best bassist?! :p

    Go Mike D!!! :D

ROFL! This gets my vote for both most inappropriate AND funniest post this month. Good job!

Now, in a Tag Team DeathMatch, I pick Lemmy Kilmister (Motorhead) and Juan Nelson (Ben Harper's Innocent Criminals) against anyone.

Heck, pick three. Any takers? :bassist:

This is about bassists, in a stupid way, therefore, I don't have to deal with it.q

  17. i would have to go with matt freeman(rancid) and fat mike(NOFX, Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies) vs. ken casey(Dropkick Murphys) and nathen maxwell(Flogging Molly) in a tag team match of punk rock vs. irish punk rock, but i would have to put my money on ken and nathen doing it up bar room style
