I just can't get my eyes of this one; I hope I'll have a chance to buy something like that once... Well, sometimes I just wish I could be Jarred Morante...
That bass would be nice if only it wasn't a single cut. Sorry but single cut basses just don't do it for me. Bassis
I'd have to second that, single cut looks too, I dunno, I guess 'unbalanced'. In an esthetic way, don't know about playability. But... I sure dig those pickups! You gotta dig those pickups, man. EZ
I agree with the previous 2 posts. I don't like the look of single cuts either. There's also something about the lower horn that bothers me; I just don't like it's shape. I will, however, say that that is one fine piece of wood, and the pickups do indeed look loverly.
Heh, well let's go for four. I don't generally like single cuts, but I do like single cut fretless without markers on the fingerboard.
Beautiful bass!! Id love to have a 7 string like it!! The only downfall to Foderi are the big honkin' price tags that comes with thme.
I really dont like any of the Fodera bass designs The wood is beautiful, and i'm sure they are built amazingly, but I havent found any nice bodys that i like.
Great piece of wood, and I'm sure it's a killer bass. Single-cuts just isn't my thing though, I think they look very strange. The only exception yet is JP's red one. Love that design...
See how the wood on the B-string side of the bass hasn't been "cut" out into the shape of a horn, and attaches to the neck of the bass instead? That's what a singlecut is; because only one horn has been cut out.
I'm not crazy about their designs either but if this baby was given to me i'd be VERY HAPPY! Let go those front dot inlays, though... It would be waaay more pretty with abalone squares or no inlays at all... Just my own personnal taste of course. Edit: I hate it when I click on "quote" instead of "edit/delete"!
I wish I could feel the same way as you do...for you, every Fodera is just another nice bass, but to me allmost every Fodera is G.A.S.
Another thing I don't really care about is those wooden pickup covers, the ones in the pics above really clash with the body wood... ...sometimes wooden covers look right, but most of the time I prefer plain black ones.
I'll go out on a limb here, I like most single cuts, and that one is a fine specimen. Very nice bass! If only they weren't so pricy, I doubt that I would be able to afford one inside of 5-10 years. jtbp
imo, it looks great! I'd rather have a 4, and I'd change the pickup covers, I don't think that red goes with the rest of the bass.
I love the Emperor II single cut design! A couple of years ago I would not have said that but they have really grown on me. I also would like a different color wood for the pickup covers. Maybe matching the top or finger board. Dan
