I used to love that game, along with parappa the rapper. I've considered buying the console again, just so I can play those games.
  3. Parappa was a million times better.

  4. Kick, punch, it's all in the mind...

I never played Um Jammer Lammy, but I heard it's pretty good. I LOVE parappa. I need to go find my copy of the game somewhere.
  5. Now just don't forget - this ain't kung-fu c'mon again!

    ooohhh man, parappa was awesome!

i'm trying to remember what grade i was in when it came out... six or seven.
  7. Man, Um Jamma had what could be the most drug-drenched trippy cut scene ever created for a video game. I'm thinking about the one where her strap (belt?) gets hooked on a pole or something and she gets flown through the air, all while seizure-inducing psychadelic colors flash behind her and time slows to a crawl. She "dies" sorta and ends up on an island where she has to sing with a Japanese pop fish-like thing while large black skulls shoot lightning bolts into the crowd. I LOVED this game. Also cool that the PS1 "thumb-joysticks" were used as effects and whammy bars when you played. You can also unlock some cool things in the game.

Only thing is I still liked PaRappa better - just a little more fun with a bit better music. But Um Jamma was a close second.

Has anyone played PaRappa 2 for the PS2? I pretty much bought a cheap PS1 simply so I could get PaRappa, UmJamma and a few others and am considering doing the same thing for the PS2 for a couple of their cool games.
  8. Never played Um Jamma Lammy. But Parappa was the game back when it was around. I still think the hip-hop/dub frog was the greatest character ever concieved by human minds. However, that damn chicken was just a pain in the donkey*cra cra cra cra crack the egg...*. They need to make a version for the PS2.

  9. +100000000000 That frog was awesome.

Truth be told, I never got past the level where PaRappa had to go the bathroom :(

I remember playing that a long time ago.

There was a level where he was waiting in line to go the bathroom. Man that was a hard one!

the chef's stage and the last level were probably the hardest, iirc.
  12. Dojo, casino, its all in the mind. All great games, parappa 1 was great too. Didnt think parappa 2 was as good... noodles everywhere...
  13. Agh! This thread gave me the urge to go play PaRappa...but I couldn't find the game! In desperation I went online to see if I could buy it and Um Jamma Lammy online somewhere, but alas could not be found.

But PaRappa 2 is on its way as we speak :hyper:
  14. By chance has anyone found a picture of the frog? Or know his proper name?
  15. Something fleaswallow if I recall correctly...
