Interested to hear that the Chinese have detected a couple of audio events in the Indian Ocean, with one of these hydrophone thingamajigs!
since the manufacturing is probably offshore these days.
Maybe something's a little loose on the PCB.
I would rather hang on for what HMS Echo has to say on the subject.
Well taking into account the rather superior signal to noise ratio available from my slightly modified ex RN STC hydrophone pre amplifier.
It's full of naughty Western Electric audio transformers and has amazing build quality:
all germanium transistor built on turrets with daven switches and Connor sealed wire wound potentiometers.
My bass sounds amazing via it.:hyper:
  2. :meh: Huh?

  3. I'm also confused... *** ?!?

I bet the OP wouldn't be making jokes if one of his family members was on board the missing plane. Way to make light of a tragedy. What an idiot!

Has someone found a body yet?, Until then it isn't a proven tragedy.
Some people are saying it landed in Diego Garcia?.
I am just delighting in the technology we use to try to find out what really happened in these thankfully rare incidents and how the technologies associated with detecting sound in water, can in fact have a ready use in bass guitar amplification.

But, but I don't play my bass underwater!!!

Seriously though, we do have to get to the bottom of this mystery. The safety of the flying public is at stake.
