Seems to me there is not really many options in sub
1000 dineros class, if you want new stuff.

Hartke 3500 + some cheap 4x10 like Peavey or Trace Elliot seems to cost around 1k, as does Carvin Red-Eye Combo if imported to Europe.

Any other options you can think of?

Adding a 4x10" will definitely up the cost because you're paying for more speakers. A GK 400RB plus a fairly nice 15" cab (such as an Ampeg or perhaps a SWR) should cost close to $1000 (if I remember the Musician's Friend prices correctly). There's other options as well, such as the Hartke 3500 or 5000, and add a 15" cab to that (though you may have to go a little cheaper). If you really like 10"s, how about a 2x10"?

If you're talking combos, there's tons and tons of great options: the Ampeg B series, SWR Workingman's, Hartke, GK.

Yep, 2x10 would be an good option too, especially since it would get the midrange better than 1x15 and be cheaper.

Another option would be some small combo like
Ashdown ABM-C110-300 which is a 1x10 with 300w head(tested in Feb issue of BassPlayer). Goes just a bit below grand in Germany, and seems to have great portability and make nice small rig with a 1x15.
