As I read more and more, it seems like many of us have stuck with tried and true pickup configurations: Single P, PJ, M, MM, JJ, etc.

Have you guys ever stumbled across some very unique P/U set-ups, or even had the chance of owning one of these?

I would say that P/MM from Delano is one of the more unique ones, but the most amazing for me would be sleepy_monkey's Frankenjazz (J/P/MM).

So, let's get some pictures of unique P/U configurations!

    How 'bout Berry Oakley's "Tractor?"

Hagstrom Bi-Sonic in the middle, then the neck Jazz pickup moved back to the bridge area. Love it.
  3. Did I hear my name? :D

Thanks for the props! I will resurrect that thread with my bass in it as soon as I get some sound clips up....school, work, and music have been keeping me too busy.

Love the colors on that bass.
  5. I have been tinkering with selling it...but not sure. I REALLY want to get a Modulus VJ....

Sleepy Monkey, the more I see your bass, the more I want it for myself.

Is it the "Avocado Bass," or the "Watermelon Bass" though?

The Tractor is pretty awesome. I wonder how the "Neck" Jazz pickup sounds there... probably just made it into a MM styled Humbucker?

Another config to ponder on is the Billy Sheehan Attitude Bass.

    Watacado, maybe?

Are the PUPs in the Italia Modulo just run-of-the-mill lipstick Pups? It would be interesting to hear what it sounds like. I really like the retro vibe of the bass.

    Keep those pictures coming!
