My friend works at a Starbucks and apparently some girl walked in one day, bass in hand and asked everyone in the store including the employees if they wanted to buy this bass for $30. My friend is a Music Therapy major and figured she might need a bass sooner or later and this was a good price, so she bought it, knowing I could help her set it up. It arrived with a banana neck and strings a mile off the fretboard even when the saddles were bottomed out. Fixed it all up got it playing alright and it has some serious tone for a $30 axe! I searched the signature above the 24th fret: "J. Hayes." I can't find anything about it online. The pickups are fantastic, they look and sound active but they are definitely passive. Anyone know anything about this bass???
Looks a lot like a tangle wood rebel 4k - have a look on google. But not sure though because Of the name on it :s
HAHAHAAA!! That's awesome! I'm from a small town in Missouri called Festus, and before Festus it was called Tanglefoot. Us rebellious ones call ourselves Tanglefootsans, and the fairies in town are the festonians! The fact that this bass is called the Tanglefoot Rebel is too hilarious! Sir, I thank you. That Tanglefoot does look identical besides the signature.
np although I am a little confused so its a replica of a bass that has a name related to your town? Random haha.
A girl walking into Starbucks and selling a bass for $30 sounds very much like it would be a stolen instrument.
