Unwanted harmonics

    yo, when i try to get dead/ghost notes or sometimes stop the string with my plucking finger it rings and its soooo annoying! any ideas how to make it stop?:confused:

    use two fingers! if you stop the string with one finger near a harmonic node point, you're going to get that harmonic (which can be a great effect) - if you stop it with two fingers, you deaden the string much more effectively.

  3. The string's always going to ring out something. Just try not to have your finger resting in an obvious place like the 5th or 7th fret.

    The EQ can make a big difference too. Mids and highs will bring out harmonics.
