Hey guys, you know what time it is. Yep. Upgrade time. I started out with a band today (woot woot) and I had a blast. We all sounded great, even though myself and another were new. Unfortunately, I was playing through the band instructor's amp and pedal board. Even more unfortunately, he's only instructor over the summer. Which ends next week. After that, we're on our own, which means I need some new stuff. So, I would really love it if you guys could suggest an amp and maybe a pedal or 2 that I could get on a $400 budget. We're playing stuff from Blur, Foo Fighters, ACDC, and some other band like that. Thanks in advance.
I use an Ampeg BA 112 Combo. It's good and under 300. Pedals it depends what you want. Dunlop Bass Wah is good. Or Boss ODB-3 for distortion. Boss is great for alot of pedals. I'd recommend them
I wouldn't really bother with pedals unless you really feel like you need them. As far as an amp goes, look used, you should be able to find a decent deal. Can't go wrong with most gear these days, if you see something that looks like what you're after a quick google or TB search should tell you if it's any good or not.
Has a single 12" speaker worth 150w, can get tilted back to work as your monitor in case of available PA and with onboard models and simulations, allows you to immediately get started and raise some experience to think about pedals and stomps to buy in the future. Cheers, Wallace
