Here's my dilemma: I will be getting a new bass in the next few months. I was wanting a G&L L2500 but now I am considdering a MIM Jazz upgraded w/new bridge, basslines pups and *possibly* a preamp. They both look cool, and would be versatile (the L2500 moreso).

Everything says G&L, BUT I could have the Jazz maybe a month sooner, maybe even closer to now. What do you think?

if you want the G&L, wait for it.

if you get the jazz bass and don't like it, you're gonna have to wait more than a month before you can get what you should have in the first place.

    that said - i'd take a jazz 5'er with a j-retro and a set of dimarzio ultra jazzes over a g&l.

I found my sound in the Fender Jazz. I did like the G&L though... Maybe you shouldn't buy something that you feel you have to upgrade right out of the box?

    Right, settled. G&L it is.
