Any recommended upgrades for this bass?

What hardware would be a step up from this standard equipment?
    PICKUPS: Seymour Duncan SJ5-3N & SMB-5D
ELECTRONICS: Duncan designed BEQ-3 EQ, 1 volume, 1 blend, 3band, mid frequency toggle

I just bought one used, and was considering pumping up the electronics. Prefer something with a punchy, modern tone.

I've had that bass (4 string version) for a couple of years and the stock preamp is good quality, pretty similar to the OBP-3 too. You might consider adding an active/passive switch and/or a serial/parallel/single one for the humbucker. Multiplies tonal options more than eq. I also swapped the humbucker to the alnico version ( SD as well) which was a better match for the neck pickup, both in sound and in output levels.
