Call Eduard (pronounced "Edward") Svetlovsky in Norcross, NE of Atlanta, three minutes off I-85. (770) 446-7091.

Believe me, this is *the guy* in the area. I'm soooo grateful he was recommended to me. He's an incredibly gifted luthier, he's a bass specialist, a raving Kay fanatic, a perfectionist, and an incredibly nice, accomodating guy. Not the cheapest but a lot of bassists "in the know" in the Southeast go to him, symphony, jazzers, all kinds of players. You won't ever dream about going to another luthier after going to him, believe me!

One of the bass professors at U. of Florida recently said, after he worked on her bass, "I'm so glad I don't have to go to NYC to David Gage anymore." He's on *that* level. He's always got a handful of nice basses to drool over, too, including a killin' old Kay that was owned by the NBC Radio orchestra. And the bass balalaika he built is pretty awesome too, not to mention that he seriously plays the heck out of it.

    Tell him Rick sent you.

Emory Clements in Tucker made a lovely bass for the ISB competition that got lost in the basement until after all the judging. I've heard he's doing nice repair work. 770.939.5228

I have been running in circles with Emory for a while now. His bass is very nice. He does quite a bit of work for us in the area. I play in sections with him quite a bit. Good player and he does good work. Plus a hell of a guy to hang out with...

    FWIW,
