Last weekend I hit up the old Grand Trunk Railroad building (insipired the name of the band Grand Funk Railroad). Going here was kind of unplanned, we were just driving by and thought it looked interestring. Bad neighborhood, but don't worry, I carry a plastic wiffle ball bat with me for protection now.

Most of these pictures didn't turn out that good. I think I had an "off" day.

Nicly cut by scrappers, this is how they get in to plunder the goods left over.

The top half was a meat storage facility. It smelled like rotten meat the whole top half.

I don't remmeber where this was, but I want to climb it next time.

    Some pretty cool pics there.

  6. Mmm, urban decay.

Bad Brains, have you ever been to the website of the Center for Land Use Interpretation? They're really into old industrial sites, although they're more focused on stuff in the West--especially mines, chemical weapons dumps, and such--than your part of the world.

Those are some really beautiful shots, man. What are you shooting with?

  8. You call those bad? I guess you haven't seen a lot of the "Shaky Camera Phone" pictures posted around there then. ;)

    You're a really talented photographer.

You're also crazy as hell going into some of those places! Dude, a whiffle-ball bat?!?!

    Awesome shots, though.

Those are some pretty cool shots. Funny, but before I read where you are from, I saw the pics and said to myself "hmm...that looks like Detriot" Go figure! Unfortunately, Cleveland is starting to resemble a lot of those pics. There should be a law that if you can't sell a property/building within a certain number of years... you have to bulldoze the entire lot. This way, there won't be so many nasty looking eyesores!

Dude, you're halfway to a zombie movie. You've got the post-zombie world, you just need to photoshop some zombies in there.

btw, what happened to those walls?!

  12. Those are some really awesome pictures, youve got a good eye.

  13. Nice work, i did some similar exploring in Cleveland a few years back, but i never ventured inside the ruins.

I especially like your broader architectural shots and the b&w silloettes.

Thanks for posting these are great!

  16. Nice camerawork, the one with the slightly off-kilter doors is pretty creepy. Portal to hell?
