I just got a used USA reissue Bassballs. I opened it up this weekend to assess moding it to make it true bypass (I've never done this before, just read about it online), and the switch already looks like it's a true bypass. I've heard rumours online, but no confirmation. Does anyone know?

I can do that tonight... it looks like it has the 6 prong dpsp switch though.

Hey man, I just emailed EHX to ask the same question -- I have a Bassballs on order. They emailed me back to confirm that the NYC reissues are true bypass.

If you take away the battery and power adaptor, and the pedal still passes signal, then its true bypass. Easy test.

The input of the effect can be connected to the jack input, but powered or not, that doesn't change anything. It all depends on the way the bypass is done.

A Boss style bypass, with fets, won't function without power. But a "simplier" bypass, just cutting the output, leaving the input, is not true byopass as the input of the effect is still connected, but let the signal flow without power.
