    Hey TBer's!

I got this bass on a trade and love it but alas, don't have gigs for it. If only it were a 5 :rollno:. Anyhow it is the absolute best playing fretless I've ever played. Tone just pours out of it. Its also a pretty rare bird. Not many US Darryl Jones' were made before the top horn was shortened and the name changed, and even fewer that were fretless, and still fewer with chi-sonics. It's in great shape below is the link to the previous owner and from his you can see the link to the original owner.

    Specs:
    Swamp Ash Body
Ebony Fingerboard w/ Birdseye Maple Blocks and Lines
    Chi-Sonic Single Coils
    8.5 lbs
Lakland White Hard Case (that has a crack in the top)

I'm looking for $2300 shipped. I prefer money order/certified check but can take paypal too. I'm not really interested in any trades for this. If no one is interested in buying it I'm happy just to hang on to it. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Wow this is back on the block already?
Just wish I could justify the fretless investment.
    I owned this basses brother.
US Lakland DJ's are amazing basses!

I got a chance to play this bass and it is nothing short of amazing. Incredible tone and the workmanship is top notch (as would be expected from a US Lakland). The fret markers blew me away with the gorgeous birdseye. I wish I needed a fretless.

Thanks! They really are amazing. Its really back on the block as a feeler. I really need something more practical for my purposes. As far as 4 string fretless goes though this is the end all.

Ha! Yeah it's a great bass. I certainly got it based on its looks. And now love it for the way it sounds and plays. If only, I could take it out more often :crying:

Not that I can afford it, (wish!) but what kind of strings are used on this recording?

DR Flats. I love them! I've used tons of flats, this had thomastiks on it before, and the DR's blow them out of the water IMO. I've used labella's as my go to before but the DR's are much more playable than the labella's while being tonally similar.

Looks like free bumps for a monster bass-- the tapewounds? I have a set on a short scale of mine and they totally kill!
