Looking to cash out on this kid. Need to fund an Elrick purchase. Price modification to 3 digits. $975 or.... how bout some resonable offers? Comes with everything in the case photo. Still has protective covering on rear. Hardly played. New Peavey strings. Perfectly set up.

If for any reason someone with an Elrick single cut 5 string has any interest in this I will add the cash. I am also interested in a MTD 535. Same deal bass + cash.

  2. What's the top wood on this one? Any idea how much it weighs? Thanks.

This bass looks just like my Cirrus-Bubinga top, Walnut Body, Walnut neck with maple stringers and Pau Fero fretboard. By the way, eventhough I was recently blessed to get a Ken Smith Black Tiger 5, my Cirrus is a keeper!!!

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste!

Forgive my spelling if I brutalize this but it is Bubinga if I am correct. Weight is light but I will weigh it tonight and get back to you.

Bubinga top, walnut body. Great boutique sounding Cirrus. Love these basses more than anything.

    Bump back into the mix.

  10. Question: You say this bass is hardly played. What year was it built?

The bass is perfect and very lightly played. I am the original owner and have only had it for about 2 years. I believe it may have been sitting for a while at the shop I bought it at. New strings and set it up myself for low action. The information that is on the sticker that is still on the protective covering states:

    Cirrus 5 Bubinga
    Item #00350280
    Mfg. Loc 02
    Serial # 51291077 2005 59

One would assume that it was manufactured in 2005.

  12. Thanks for the response. That's interesting. I originally figured it was one of the earlier USA production line Cirrus' (Cirruses? Cirri?), because that wood combination is identical to my older Cirrus. However, 2005 would indicate a "Custom Shop" Cirrus. What's weird about that is that as far as I know, Pau Ferro was only available on the original production line basses, and wasn't available for Custom Shop orders. And from looking at your pictures, that definitely looks like Pau Ferro.

So either there were "production line" basses for a bit longer than I thought (I swore they stopped them around 2003), or Pau Ferro was available for orders at least through 2005.

Beautiful bass, and i'm thinking really hard about it.

I would love to have an excuse to hand deliver it and detour to Napa for a week. Not likely but it would be fun. Haven't been there since 2005.
