Used Fender American Jazz price??

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by baba, Jan 17, 2006.

  1. I'm looking at a used, near mint, Fender Jazz, MIA. What's the price range for these?....in the USA.
  2. Generally, somewhere between 550-800$ depending on the model.
  3. It be looking like this. I assume it's just a passive, no frills jazz. Do Fender serials indicate model? I know they indicate age.

    Edit..pictures too big, doh!
  4. In some cases, they do indicate model. For example, a serial number "VN9######" means it's a vintage model (American Vintage), while "MN9######" means it's a Mexican model, both from 1999 (S=70, E=80, N=90, Z=00). Some American deluxes are labelled "DZ######", the D standing for Deluxe, but this seems to be very sporadic (probably only in the early 2000s). Also, some Japanese serial numbers start with E and N, so be sure to see the "Made in USA" label.
  5. N7299900

    It's a 97 going for $600.
  6. thats a fair asking price, depending on the condition.
the serial # is consistant with a '97 model, mia.
    good luck!
