    Hello

How do you use a mic pre with a bass if the pre doesn't have
1/4 ' jacks? That's the standard guitar cable size right?

    thanks in advance,
    shawn

1/4" is the standard instrument cable size, yes.

i'd use a DI. this is a little box that converts a high-impedance unbalanced instrument signal to a low-impedance balanced microphone input. or, more basically, it converts your 1/4" plug into an XLR plug, so that you can easily interface with mixers, mic pres and the like.

JPB has you covered! A DI is needed in that case.
