    Hey guys,

I'm just wondering if my B15 cab would sound good plugged through an Ampeg V4B head. FYI, I changed the original speaker to a 350W Eminence.

  2. It should work fine. Just watch the volume. Good luck. :D

i don't think volume should be an issue. the v4b is 100 watts. crank that thing and let those powertubes do what they do best
  4. You're right, it shouldn't. But I've found it safer to be careful with a new setup. Ya never know. :D

It's my understanding that the amps in the B-15R and V4B are the same. With your new 350 watt speaker you can turn it up all you want. It should sound pretty good.

Just make sure you have the correct speaker impedance selected on the three way switch on the back of the V4b amp.

I run my V4b through a B-25b two 15" cabinet which can be set at 16 ohms if you use the b25b head or 4 ohhms if you use the V4b head. I have an old ampeg brochure from the 70's that shows you all the recommended head and speaker combinations (somewhere).

Back in the day, (mid 70's) I used an SVT head with my
B15-N with a JBL D-140. For the volume I was playing at
it was just killer. As good as it gets. MARVELOUS!!! Enjoy!
