using an active EMG J pickup with an active MEC

    Need some advice here. I've got an extra active EMG J pickup I was thinking of installing in the bridge or neck of my thumb bass to give it some different tone range. Has anyone tried this before? They are both active PU, so in theory this should work.

    I have an active 3 band MEC installed-tone is great, just thinking the EMG will add some beef in the blend. My initial thought was bridge position, but I'm not opposed to neck as well. Has anyone tried this?
