Hello all, I have a GK1001RB which is my main bass head. When I record bass, I just use the DI out from the head into my interface. Would it harm the head at all to simply record without the head being plugged into a cab? Thus, the head would be on with no sound physically coming out of anywhere, just the DI signal.

Just looking for easier recording without damaging anything, thanks yall :)

Tube amps need to see resistance at the output and thus need a dummy load. I believe yours is all solid state and you should be fine.

My SWR Redhead has a "speaker off" switch for that purpose.
