Ok I have a Trace Elliot commando combo with a 1x12 speaker and I love the tone but its not quite loud enough and it says on the back "100w rms 200w peak" so does that mean I can hook up an extra cab and get 200w out of it?

    Thanks :hyper:

No. If it has an extension speaker out jack you can use an additional speaker, make sure to match the impedance/ohm rating. If it doesn't, your stuck.

It doesnt say the ohm rating on the back.I dont think it has a jack for an extra cab either. So why does it say 100w rms 200w peak?

it's a rating for the "Average" power (RMS). Peak is the max capacity of the amplifier.

And is there any way to use the full 200w?

You will be using the full 200W when you crank it up all the way and it sounds crappy and distorted. That's what peak sounds like.

200W is only 3db, or just noticably, louder than 100W. To sound twice as loud, you need 1000W.
