Just wanted to start a thread to see how TBers are using the newest technology to promote your band.

For example, I have one of those Treo Smartphones with MP3 player software and threw in a 512 MB memory card to store MP3s on them. Now, I can play a demo of my band for anyone who is willing to listen as long I as I have my phone with me, either through headphones or through the phone's speaker. I figure if I can demo my band while I'm face-to-face with a potential client, I'll increase my chances of closing the sale. I'm also hoping to reduce the old "I'll listen to the CD and get back to you". Plus, I possibly won't be wasting as much money on CDs that will sit on gathering dust, as well as postage and printing for them.

Any other ideas to improve our musical lives through technology?

I do something similar. I use a Pocket PC (similar to a Palm Pilot; has Windows Media Player installed) for business, but I keep an extra Secure Digital card in the pouch with some MP3 and WMV files, along with a fold-up pair of Koss Porta Pros. It can play a .wmv (video) file, and pop a short clip on the Pocket PC screen along with the audio, as long as the video resolution isn't too high.

    Nothing like an on-the-spot demonstration.
