Anyone heard this album yet? I usually pick up anything by them right away, but I read a real bad review of it that made this outing sound especially poor. Link here >>> V Review

I mean, based on what they are saying about the songs, I'm afraid to even pick this disc up.

I've been a fan since their first album. It was back then that I got to see see them perform in a small, intimate bar setting in Philly. They were a relative unknown back then except maybe locally, but man they were so young and high energy! That show stands out as one of the best I've seen from any band, I think the setting really made all the difference. Plus, they were at an average age of probably 19 or so back then, which is how old I was as at the time.

Has anyone heard the new one? Any thoughts on it?

EDIT - I should add, the only song I've heard from this album is 'Overcome', which they've played out on the radio already. That's not really the type of song I like to hear from them, I like their edgier or more upbeat stuff a lot better.

  2. I have every other Live album, but after 'The Distance To Here', Im very cautious about buying the new album. From what I've heard, it has more in common with 'TDTH' then 'Secret Samadhi'. And whats the deal with them trying nu-metal?

  3. The single before Overcome was awful, it featured Tricky. The singer was trying to rap or something...bad! :D

  4. I saw an interview on tv today with live ahh.. I will just keep my mouth shut :D!

Yeah, I agree with what's been said. What I'm reading and hearing about the direction they've taken has soured me on buying the new disc. Too bad, I think they have the energy and potential to be one of the best rock bands out there.

I'm *very* disappointed to see them stray into the rap metal scene. To me, this seems to indicate emulating the flavor of the week in music, a betrayal to their musical talents. I can only hope they get it together and make a comeback the next time around. :(
