Can anyone give me a rough idea of what an original (supposedly) 1969 Fender P bass goes for with the current market the way it is? I found one in town here, and assuming it checks out, I am curious what an average price would be?
I know there are a lot of variables, so I am just looking for a rough idea.

    A lot of money.

Sorry the best I could do! It depends a lot on condition, color, and originality. Not to mention functionality!

    Please narrow variables.
    What has been replaced.

How does it sound and play?
    Has anyone famous owned it?

If it is in excellent condition, is all original, plays and sounds great-
2-3K+ possibly even a bit more.

JTE used to know this market well. My guess, he still does, but I'm not positive. Many of us have learned from him. Anyway, John knows more than I do.

Have you looked on the Fender forums too?

Above posts were added while I was writing this one.
