Van Zandt P for Short Scale

Hi. I am looking for a suitable pickup to sonically transform my Squier Jag SS into as close to a full-scale sound as possible.

I have been auditioning pickups, looking for the right properties for the job. So far, the Van Zandt P-Bass pickup, along with a possible active tone circuit holds the most promise.

Other possible candidates that I have not heard is the Bartolini 8SU and Rio Grande "Muy Grande".

Anyone have any suggestions?
