Vantage neck bow...

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by thirtyfootsmurf, Dec 20, 2000.

  1. A Vantage that I'm borrowing has a neck bow problem. Something like this: \___ (only not that serious). There is not truss rod from what I can see. Any help would be appreciated. You can look at it at:

TFSmurf -- I checked out your pic. See that little plate on your headstock right above the nut? That looks to me like a truss rod access cover. Carefully take the screws out and see if there is a truss rod adjustment nut underneath.

If you've never done an adjustment before, I'd recommend you take it to a pro. It's not difficult and shouldn't cost too much. If you prefer to do it yourself, check out the Fender site at http://www.mrgearhead.net/faq/basssetup.html for instructions.

If you do decide to do it yourself, take it slow and easy and proceed with great care and caution -- if you bust the truss rod, you've got an expensive piece of firewood on your hands. Good luck.
