This tune has been interpreted in various ways and I'd like to know if anyone can point me toward arrangements other than as performed by those below-listed: "El Rey" Tito Puente Carlos Santana Michel Camilo Bob Mintzer Big Band I'm playing the tune at an upcoming gig and I'd like to listen to as many versions as I can before coming up with my own arrangement. Thanks!
A quick search on iTunes revealed versions by Clintron Santana Don Baaska Celia Cruz(trance mix) John skinner's fabulous band as well as the artists you mentioned.
...there's always Brent "Mr. Data" Spinner's version from the Out To Sea flick. Spinner is playing a lounge singing Cruise Director.
Have you heard his album? he does the lounge singer/crooner thing pretty well. It's not that amazing, but it was better than I expected. It's got a good title too. "Ol' Yellow eyes"
