Ventura Fretless

i'm considering buying a ventura fretless bass, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with these. im not sure of the model number, but it cost £167.
also, it will be my second bass. i played it in the shop for a while and it sounded good. i was very comfertable using it. is it advisable to buy a fretless as my second bass. i would pretty much use it all the time.
Finally, are there any styles of music a fretless bass is unsuitable for. i play mostly punk/ska/pop-punk.

thanks. i actually meant that the fretless would be my first bass, but the second that i owned. also by punk/pop punk/ska i meant Less than jake, green day, the vandals, NOFX, offspring etc
