    HI!

    It's Verdine White's Birthday today, the King of finger funk, IMO!! He was a big influence on me when I started playing over 20 years ago. I still throw on EWF cd's when I feel like I need to work on my groove. What a player! Happy Bday, Verdine!

    yaaayy!!! i just roadied for them at a local show! they were kickin it. one of the crew guys said that in the 11 years he's toured with them, verdine hasn't missed a note...that's awesome!

    Way back in the late '60's I played at the Whiskey in Hollywood and caught his playing with Earth Wind and Fire when they were brand new. His playing and attitude were just amazing. I ran into him in Sherman Oaks, CA about 10 years ago and we talked for a while. He actually remembered that Whiskey gig and we shared some stories and laughs. A very talented player and a nice guy too.
