    ¾ size double bass by Yang Ming, Chinese maker with a fast-growing reputation
    Approx 12 years old
    Fully hand-carved with superb level of craftsmanship
    Very good sound, clear and responsive throughout the range
    Excellent quality wood, especially attractive figured maple on the back
    Good thick piece of wood on the front giving resilience (it has already been played a lot in its short life)
    Fine Aubert bridge with Clifton adjusters fitted for versatility of set-up
    Fairly narrow shoulders and strong but slender neck making it easy to play, even in the upper register
    Bow quiver and David Gage realist pick-up fitted making it ready to ‘plug in and play’
    The responsive sound and ease of playing make it ideal for the player who is gigging a lot and wishes to avoid unnecessary fatigue
    Ideal for jazz or chamber music
