Just got an EH Black Finger, and it makes the most awful hum and hiss when plugged in. I'm running it between my bass and amp, brand new cables, tried different basses....what can I do to get rid of all this noise?

  2. The black finger has a tube in there doesn't it?
Need some work... find a technician

Any thoughts as to what exactly....?

  4. Yes, I just checked EHX website... your Black Finger has tubes in there. And don't eventhink about doing it yourself, it is advertize as using 300 Volts... unless you want a new hair cut ;)

Check this link for possible debugging...
But again, if tube work needs to be done, give it to a good technician, unless you are one yourself...

    Hope this helps!

  5. Actually, this might be more your case, loud hiss.

Are you sure he's talking about the tube Black Finger and not the 70's version (the one with the 3 knobs and no tubes)? Cause I'm getting my 70's one pretty soon, and was told it hisses pretty bad when turned up. Anybody of you TB guys used the vintage one on in your pedalboards before? Any comments/complaints? I've only been able to find comments by guitarists.
