I was told there are two models of the CryBaby 105Q. So which one is the newer model, the one with the controls on the bottom, or with the controls on the side? Thanks, Graeme
Well, I got my 105q CryBaby a few months ago brand-new, and the controls are on the side. So, that's prolly the one -Dash
I thought there was only one '105Q', but there are many a version of 'crybaby' out there. Notably the guitar versions. the 105Q (105 being a model number, so there'd only be one 105) is the only current bass model around methinks.
Yeah what he means is that the design of the 105Q was changed while they were being produced... The early 105q's have the knobs on the bottom (making it harder to change mid-set) and also, have a delay between you closing the wah, and your sound being bypassed, and to remove this you have to cut out a component (or add one in, can't remember which). The newer one is alot better, having the controls on the side for easy twiddling mid-set, and althought the delay is still there, as it is a part of the design aspect because of the "No-Switch" mechanism, Dunlop took the initiative to add a trimpot to reduce (or increase if your that way inclined ) the delay (just next to the battery slot), which can be accessed by taking the bottom plate off. I did this little mod as soon as I got the pedal and it greatly improved it's performance, IMO.
