Very Rare Vintage Ibanez Roadster Bass (1981) - RS-924BS (Brown Sunburst).

    MAKE ME AN OFFER

This bass has been fully restored and upgraded, without fixing or killing all the original mojo.

Solid Magogany Body with Beautiful Flamed Maple Top

Tuned Response Solid Rock Maple Neck with 24 Frets

In-Pot 2-Band EQ (Circuit boards mounted directly on the pots!)

Brand new DiMarzio P/J DP126CR Pickups (precision and jazz pickup set)

    Brand new Grover Titan Tuners

(Professionally bored out the headstock to accommodate the beefier ferrules.) these have a Manufacturers Lifetime Guarantee.

Brand new cream coloured Rubber Grommet for the selector switch. (Super hard to find!)

Brand new Top Hat Rotary Knobs

Reconditioned Original Bridge with Brass Saddles (Clean them using ketchup! The acid eats away the corrosion. Then just rinse and wet sand them ‘til shiny.)

Brand New Elixer Coated Strings (Not cheap!)

Authentic Schaller Strap Locks and Authentic Hippie Strap negotiable.

This bass is HEAVY! (9.6 lbs) It feels great and sounds insane. It has a HUGE GROWLY SOUND, but not boomy. Lots of mids. Perfect for metal.

This is the exact same model bass that Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) used to record The Trooper and Run To The Hills. He also showcased the bass in the videos for these songs. His was black, but the same model. Great sound!

Anyhow, it took months to research, source and buy all the parts, refinish and rebuild ... without killing all the dents and gouges that make this bass so dang cool. It’s a true survivor with a proud rock and roll past. A real Road Worn Relic.

This bass has many hours of labour in its restoration including over $750 in parts. These basses were $490 US new back in 1981. Good luck finding another one now. They’re extremely rare.

Nope. His was the black one, passive. I have the same bass with barts in it. None the less, yours is the rare bird with the flame top. Much nicer looking. These do play very well.

Are you in Nova Scotia? It says in the OP that you are but your profile says BC.

Do you have any interest in a MIM Fender jazz? It is fretless (not defretted, originally fretless)

The only mod has been a BAII bridge but I still have the stocker.

Awww thanks. No, I did the fretless thing a while back. It’s something you have to commit to. Dabbling in fretless only leads to frustration. Thanks though.

Absolutely, which is why I posted the pics of ‘Arry playing his one. He replaced one pickup and yes his was the black version.

No problem. I have a thing for old Ibanez gear and thought I'd ask.

So yeah, I’m really after a road worn jazz. Something nice and weathered and aged, like a fine cheese.

Id still love to see some photos. I’m wondering how much it would cost to have frets installed.

DOH. Sorry buddy, I spaced on replying. The MIM jazz bass got traded for a guitar.

    Again, I'm sorry.

So I'm not trading this anymore. Shipping cost from the US to Canada is too much apparently. So now I'm selling it.
