Over the weekend these 3 kids were doing tricks on their bikes on their neighborhood street. They weren't wearing helmets, and one of them fell and hit his head, and that knocked him out. As he laid there a minivan came around the corner, and his 2 friends tried to get the van to stop, but their waving caused the driver to look at them and NOT the road and, well you can figure out what happened next. The 55 year old driver ran over the kid and dragged him 60 feet and killed him. What a waste. :(

Hug your kids and guard them. It's a sad tough world out there.

sounds like it could have been avoided.

  8. It may have all happened quickly, and they may have been some way away......

    Tragic indeed!:(

Also, I'm sure the kids weren't thinking of it, but if you move someone who has recieved head/neck injuries without stablizing them, it could cause further problems. But if they were just kids, they probably didn't know what to do. Very tragic. :(

I'm quite surprised these things don't happen more often. Every summer I see quite a few instances of young kids on overpowered bikes, acting like complete jackasses, with no regard for anyone, including themselves.

They were on pedal bikes... not motocross.

how can you run over a kid and drag him 60 feet without realizing it?
