Hello and welcome. First off it would be a good thing to familiarize yourself with the parts of the bass and how to tune it. Then start with basic things like proper right-hand technique and left-hand technique. Also, the notes on the fretboard. Begin with the open strings: E A D G. Maybe some stuff may sound boring at first, but it is valuable to learn the basics before getting into heavier theory and instruction. And speaking of instruction, it would also be wise to find yourself a good teacher.
Welcome to TB! Great advice from Stephanie. Also, make sure your take your time while learning, and don't put too much "on your plate" at once. In time, everything will start to fall in place.
remeber every ******* does good! (eadg) and do exersices with the first fret 2nd 3rd 4rd each with a differnt finger. and come back down 4 3 2 1. so your using your index middle ring then pinky finger on the way up then pinky, ring, middle, index on the way back down.its a good exersice for beginers. and once again i suck at explaining stuff
