I agree. Looks like thuya burl. Either way, this would be a great instrument to get into. No bids either.

Somebody! get this and be very happy with your purchase!:hyper:

  3. Wow, thats a good looking Roscoe. Pretty sure youre right about the top. Doesnt look like any Redwood Burl Ive seen. Pretty piece of mahogony too.

I've seen redwood that looked like that, but I still think its Thuya Burl personally.

  6. Well folks, I peeked at our records, and guess what, that is indeed a redwood burl.

Holy crap! That is one FINE LG3000! Hmm...that redwood burl/maple would make a lovely match to my maple burl/pau ferro. One day I will join the club of multiple Roscoe owners.

Any possibility you guys got it wrong Gard? That just looks exactly like Thuya to me and not any redwood I've ever seen!

  11. Not THAT wrong man....nope. And I've seen redwood just like that...got a stack of it about 30 feet from my desk! ;)

Thuya is much more "brown" looking to me anyhow...

If i had the dough, I would probably pick up this bass. If it was fretless, I would sell my body to afford it.
