THOUSAND OAKS, CA — Vidami® introduces the Vidami Blue, a wireless multi-modal video control pedal that now connects via Bluetooth to computers and iOS mobile devices to make video learning easy and fast.Compatible with popular platforms like YouTube, Vidami Blue eliminates the struggles musicians have in fumbling to select a video playback speed or trying to scroll back to the beginning of a lick every time they want to hear or see it again. With its time-saving, easy-to-use 5-switch functionality, and patented looping feature, Vidami Blue gives musicians wireless, hands-free control of dozens of today’s most popular educational video platforms. With Vidami Blue, players can experience the freedom to learn and create at home, in the studio, or on-the-go with their mobile device.

The next-generation Vidami Blue features the same Video Mode functionality as the original Vidami, with its ability to loop, slow down, and control playback of videos on more than 35 compatible online video learning platforms. The Bluetooth-enabled pedal gives players the ability to use Video Mode with their iPhone or iPad on Safari iOS 15 and Vidami’s iOS Safari extension, making Vidami Blue the ultimate road companion for practice. Vidami Blue also runs via Bluetooth on Mac and PC desktop computers with Vidami’s Chrome and Safari browser extensions.

Additionally, Vidami Blue features two new modes, DAW (digital audio workstation) Mode and Page Turning/TAB Mode. In DAW Mode, players can record, loop, add tracks, and set markers on popular workstations, including GarageBand, Logic Pro, REAPER, Pro Tools, Studio One, Cubase, and Ableton Live. A natural extension to Video Mode, Page Turning/TAB Mode enables players to easily turn pages, scroll tabs/lyrics, and use other functions on their preferred digital sheet music apps and tab sites, including OnSong, forScore, the Ultimate Guitar website, and others.

Made in America by a family-owned-and-operated company, Vidami Blue runs on a rechargeable lithium battery through Bluetooth connection with a 3-foot USB cable included for recharging only. The unit sells for $229.99 USD.

I have the first gen, and it is really useful for learning stuff via YouTube. Blue is a no-go for me, as a) I don't need all those features to justify the cost and b) the BlueTooth doesn't work with Android at this point.
  4. I did not know something like this existed. Seems like a great idea.

I've been using a generic $25 3 pedal USB pedal to control YouTube videos for several years. Amazon has them.

They install as a simple input device with a simple utility. You can make any of the three pedals send whatever key combo or sequence you choose in seconds. Some of these and similar devices were originally developed as accessibility aids for folks who couldn't press multiple keys at once or had problems with mouse buttons.

Mine was $25, they've gone up a few bucks... https://www.amazon.com/DecentGadget...ywords=usb+foot+pedals&qid=1650239900&sr=8-20

Not as durable as the device in this article, but good enough for practice and if wireless isn't really needed.

I currently have mine set up for YouTube / Windows 10 actions:
    - Start / Stop - (k)
    - Volume Down, handy with headphones - (-)
    - Toggle Windows, handy going back and forth between windows, like a chart and YouTube - (alt-tab)

Actions are changeable in seconds for different needs and can be anything that can be controlled by keystrokes, combos, or strings.

On a side note, there's a GREAT browser plug-in for YouTube called "Enhancer for YouTube™". It allows looping using any start stop points, ad skipping, volume boost, and speed up/down. The developer asks for a voluntary $5 PayPal donation if you like it. I found it incredibly useful and gladly paid.
