    Haia guys,

a friend of mine wants to buy a videocamera in the US because it is cheaper (so she says), any prices? She just wants a view on some prices, so maybe the pricelist of an American media store, dunno, surprise me!

    Cheers

If there are some certain models you have in mind you can always do a search at www.pricegrabber.com to see what various internet sites sell it for.

Hey I just ordered 2 pairs of JBL home theater speakers from them. The transaction went smoothly and the prices were awesome.

  5. Glad to hear that, Brad. :)

Their store on 34th St & 9th Avenue is pretty impressive. I usually deal with either B&H, or http://adorama.com for my photography stuff.

Adorama has one of the best photo labs in the city, IMHO.

All you shutterbugs out there: Make sure you check out the used photography section in both stores. ;)

My wife and I get their catalog via the mail. She's into photography and I'm into recording stuff. It's the one piece of 'gear porn' that I get that we can both sit down and drool over...it's a beautiful thing. :bawl:

    I second that.

I have been using Pricegrabber.com for years. I can usually find what I am looking for a lot cheaper than B&H, J&R and BestBuy.

Best Buy is quite easy to beat... however for the speakers I was looking at no one was cheaper than B&H and J&R.. what kind of stuff are you finding on pricegrabber that's a LOT cheaper than B&H and J&R?! They are both WAY cheaper than Best Buy...not even comparable..a.t least for JBL. I got my E30's for $159.99 shipped from B&H. The same ones were 300 bucks at Best Buy.

B &H is where the pros shop and they stand behind their sales. Highly reputable.

I have purchased cameras, periphials, computers, etc. I never bought anything pro-audio related though.

Trust me, I grew up around J&R. I love their music department, but their prices are not the best and the service leaves alot to be desired.

I just saw your speakers for $148 (after shipping and tax) on Pricegrabber.

Oh yeah...I did see one place from pricegrabber that was about 10 bucks cheaper but they weren't an authorized dealer. I didn't want to give up my warranty from JBL for 10 bucks.

    Totally understandable.

Though for periphial stuff, PG is hard to beat.
