Looking to trade my Killer vintage 1973 Fender jazz bass! Im looking for early 73 or prior Rickenbacker 4001's. The jazz is all original and complete except for the front pickup cover.Original case is clean as well. It has one broken latch. It is in the case pocket. All dates are correct. The neck is beautiful birdseye maple. The only issue is the thumb rest was moved over the bridge pickup at one time in its life. That's it other wise. The neck is nothing short of killer Nicde clean and tall frets. Plays like butter and the tone is mean and growly like a good jazz bass should sound.Im looking for a good vintage Rickenbacker 4001.1973 or earlier. It doesn't have to be clean just structurally sound and playable. Im not looking for a case queen! Thanks all and let me know what you have out there. im listening.By the way. The pics I posted of the bass are in a different case that im not afraid to damage. The original case is really clean so I don't take it out. I can take pics of it as well if you wish.
For some reason unless you get rare color Rics don't hold there value like Fenders, I found an 86 Ric in Inca Sliver I probably will buy it. Its a nice bass for the money
I have a 78 Rick. I have both original pickups and Seymour Duncan. All original except replacement pickup cover. The white finish has aged nicely to a creamy yellow. Has done serious mojo! I've had it for a while now, but I'm more of a jazz bass guy.
