Vintage (1974) UniVox U200B head... Any info and any good?

    I have a mid 70's Ampeg V9 9x10" which is 300w @4ohms. I'm trying to find a period correct head to put on top of it without spending a fortune. The head has a 8/4/2 ohm selector switch but I can't find the wattage at each setting. I know nothing about this thing except for they only made it for one year. The cool part, the guys only wants twenty bucks for it but it's quite a drive for me to pick it up. Am I better off using it as a nightstand or paperweight? Anyone have any experience with these??

    Well if it works it's electrolytic caps are well overdue for replacement.
    I wouldn't drive very far for an early seventies 200W solid state amp even if it was free.

    In 1973 I bought a Univox 115 transistorized bass combo for practice. It was my first non tube amp. In hindsight, it wasn't very good. I took a hit and sold it for $15 after ten years of languishing unused in a corner.
