    The external speaker jack changes the tap on the OPT from 8Ω for the internal driver to 16Ω for both. As you correctly surmised the two drivers are in series.

    What are they asking for the amp?

    one of the transformers is not new, if Power that's fine, if output i'd be cautious, that's a big chunk of the tone there. also cuts the value down. re-cap? 4 prong speaker cable or updated to modern type? original tubes or new ones?

    any mods to the circuit? what speaker does it have?

    tons of different things with old amps.
