vintage bass

hi there, 2 weeks ago i went to a (bass)guitar convention and i saw some "vintage" bass's that were being showcased, just so we are all clear i dont mean old bass's i mean the company called vintage.

andway i tried one of there bass's which had a bright tone yet all reviews gave it a bad review.

has any body played any vintage bass's ? if so which one and what did u think of it.
