Selling my ‘66 Dual Showman blackface head, sitting atop a '66 Bandmaster 2x12 cab that has been slightly improved/modified for bass. The rig features 85 watts of tube goodness, pushing through a tight cabinet with extra bracing and poly fill (as recommended by the TB community) and two Eminence neo Basslite speakers with little play time. It's possible I'll come to my senses.
THis vintage Fender rig suitable for bass has decent power for small and medium gigs, great bass tone and a movable cab under 50 lbs, unlike the original Dual Showman “Fridges. ” Grills and tolex on both are in great condition. The Showman is the same width as the original Bandmaster, so the metal brackets fit perfectly into the cabinet thumb screws. Like they were made for each other!
    Selling because I'm downsizing.

If you are a guitar player or know one who'd be interested, I have two Fender Eminence guitar speakers that sound sweet and I could swap out.

Now back to Bass-ics: The head is in very good-to-excellent cosmetic condition, no significant blems, just some slight wear for this 50+ years head. It was thoroughly checked a few years ago by one of the best amp techs in Eastern CT and it hasn’t been gigged or left my studio since. The bench test results in the pic shows work done, including replacement of resistors and the power/standby switches, tubes biased and new 3 way plug. Otherwise it checked out beautifully.
The cabinet is in even better condition, and with the Basslites (8 ohms each for total 4 ohm cab) weighs under 50 lbs. The head has a nice padded custom cover and the cabinet comes with the original Fender cover, with some separation at the corner seams but still serviceable. The cabinet upgrades are suggested in this thread. NO porting or cutting, just extra bracing and screws, and a good amount of polyfill. All work done by me. Speakers are barely broken in.
    Blackface Bassman 2x12 Cabinet Upgrade
I can take additional internal photos of the head and cab if there’s serious interest but I’ll also stand by my TB feedback rep that it is as described.
Price is $2200. No shipping, local only from southeastern CT. Willing to drive an hour and discuss a place to try it. I have relatives around the region. Only trade considered is a Pedulla MVP 4.
Paypal OK but cash preferred for local sale. I’ll try to answer any questions.

Absolutely beautiful, and similar to various fenders from that era that I played when I was MUCH younger!

Yeah, I always loved this look, which is why I put it together. A bassman with this size cab was my first amp. I first used a BF Bassman withthis cab but it didn't have enough power. The DS has sufficient and lovely power for small and med venues, or more with PA support. The cab is really quite good with the mods, tight with solid lows and little booming and not very heavy but 60s-70s standard. I won't be too disappointed to keep it longer. I do enjoy looking at it in my home studio.

For sure and the nice thing here is it's much smaller, lighter and easier to move. Those Eminence Basslites really do the job in that cab.
