It struck me as I rode home the other day that there are a lot of older cars, trucks and even streetcars here. So I got my cell phone out and started taking pictures as I come accross them. These are just cars that people drive on the street. I hope some of you will be posting much nicer pictures of classic cars, truck, motorcyles, boats whatever you want. No limit here. Meanwhile here is what I have. In San Franciso we buy old streetcars from around the world here is one I saw the other day.
I saw this old Ford Galaxy 500 on my way home from work. My guess is 1964 but some of you car experts may know better. My father used to have one of these, it is the car I learned that I used to learn how to drive, that and my sister's 59 VW beetle.
The next three cars I saw parked all in a row. The first one is an old Volvo, it is not unusual to see these on the road around here.
Parked in front of the Volvo was an old Chevy van. My best guess in late 60's or early 70's. A lot of my friend used to have vans like this one.
Parked in front of the van was this Valiant Station Wagon. Early 60's? You can't tell from the picture but the seats were covered with a tiger skin printed material.
That Valiant wagon is awesome. '66 I think. I seem to remember some of them came with blinds that hung in the back windows. Very cool.
station wagons from the fifties and the first half or so of the sixties are pretty collectable these days. They look pretty bad ass when they're lowered and restored with nice paint and upholstry, that valiant wagon is a bit of a rare bird I'd venture
I had one of these. My favorite vehicle ever. 250 engine between the seats. Something about the sensation of riding over the front wheels. Fond memory.
Really dig the old COE trucks. A lot have been chopped into cool street rods like this, but I like them just as well in their original form, heavy duty work trucks.
A PV544! Lovely! Nearly bought one of those, and still have a soft spot for them, but ended up with an 1800ES instead. Taking her to her first car show on Sunday.
Nice my sister, I hope the both of you have a great time. Tell her to take easy on the high octane though. You don't want her getting too rowdy.
