Vintage Jazz Tones?

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by John K., Apr 7, 2003.

  1. Anybody have any clips, recordings, or recommendations of songs that have Jazz basses using the neck pickup solo'ed?

I check bgavin's site for the representative Jazz tones, but Jaco uses the bridge and Geddy's tone, is well, Geddy's tone (amazing but not what I'm lookin' for right now).

    Thanks folks.

I believe a lot of reggae standards where recorded with a jazz bass, obviously using the neck pickup and flats. I think if you checked out some old reggae stuff, you will hear the neck pup quite a bit.
